New Zealand needs to adopt medical approaches that prevent the increasing levels of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the nervous system and cancer. Immediate funding for these areas should be a priority that is more important than creating an ever larger bureaucracy whose main purpose over the last five years has been to focus on the great Australian adventure instead of protecting the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
It should be the Government’s role to ensure that every New Zealander has access to the best healthcare available and Government should protect every citizen's right to natural health freedom of choice.

This includes the practitioner's right to practice and the consumer's right to access natural health options. As an organisation we are totally opposed to legislation that would restrict or revoke a practitioners right to provide consultations and make recommendations aimed at educating the consumer about natural health-related methods and choices that promote a healthier lifestyle.

The New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners actively supports legislation that protects the rights of natural healers and practitioners of holistic health modalities to practice. The New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners also diligently attempts to educate consumers and legislators, regarding the role of natural health modalities in promoting wellness.

Special message for those of you running Natural Health focused businesses or organisations

As you know, following the shelving of the Therapeutics Products Bill last month, the industry has been left in limbo by a Government that lacks the courage to admit its mistakes and get on with designing the purpose built NZ system that is needed for regulating natural health products.

What is needed now is for this industry to come together to show that despite the picture the Government is trying to paint, this industry supports regulation but insists that it be sensible regulation designed around the actual risk profile of the products, which we know to be very low.

To achieve this we have written a simple position statement which we believe covers the main concerns we share and supports the recommendations of the first Health Select Committee report about what is needed for the future.

This statement has deliberately been kept "big picture" as now is not the time to get caught up in arguments over matters of detail. The aim is to demonstrate that we all agree on the key elements of the way forward and to put pressure on Government to act to this basis. 

This position statement linked below already has the support of many key organisations in the sector and we would encourage those of you running natural health businesses or organisations to add your voice to this call by printing off the attachment, filling in the required details, signing it and faxing it back to Amy Adams on 03 377 2999 or use the web form if you don’t have a printer or acrobat.

Completing this two day workshop you will be able, competently to correct non structural scoliosis. This is where rotation has not begun. You will be able to halt the progress even when it has begun with some restrictions. You will be shown and practise the corrective exercises needed to correct the condition and shown home exercises for your clients. You will receive clear explanatory notes. A follow up workshop will be run if sufficient interest. To date, here and in Australia, I know of no Physios, Chiropractors or Osteopaths who are able to perform this technique.

Depending on response workshops will most likely be held in most central area for applicants. Actual boundaries will be set up when registrations are received. Advise best dates in September or October for you to attend. Helpful if you indicate dates not suitable. Cannot absolutely guarantee you will get your first choice of date.

WORKSHOP DETAILS 

Treating Sciatica Pain Effectively. This workshop introduces 2 new ways to treat this common problem. Unless you have done this workshop with me you will not have seen this way of treating it. Some people have done this one but many still asking for it.

Using Positional Release to treat Fibromyalgia. A lot of people suffer from this condition. You will be shown how to test for it. It is often confused with CFS or Polymyalgia. This method is unique to me as I developed it from scratch. I have just completed treatment for a patient referred by WINZ.

Massage with movement. This uses five ways to use passive and active movement to treat an area. Useful for all clients but especially Sports. A comment from a well known S.I. lady was that she was aware of some of it but until my workshop did not know why it worked. She did it in Tauranga while staying in N.I.

Sports Therapies. This workshop covers Pre and Post event work. Stretching and strengthening and effective treatment for common injuries. Much more.

Massage and Respiratory problems. This teaches effective ways to treat respiratory problems and specifically targets Asthma. There are Yoga exercises included in the workshop.

Lymphatic Drainage. You will learn the theory of this drainage and at the end of the 2 days will be able to provide adequate treatment for most of the conditions you can treat with this.

Plans to hold workshops in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.
